Kanban management

Functional description

The Full-Empty module is used to optimise the management of product flows between the storage cabinets in healthcare departments and the pharmacy or warehouses by means of an innovative cabinet restocking procedure.

Etiquette Plein-VideInspired by the Kanban method, the “Full-Empty” procedure is based on a double compartment system. Products managed according to this system are stored in two compartments. Each compartment contains an amount that is considered to be sufficient for a restocking cycle (e.g. one week). A barcode label is affixed to one of the compartments. Healthcare staff must only use the items stored in the labelled compartment. When this is empty, staff attach the label to a rail provided for this purpose. Throughout the time required for restocking, the contents of the second compartment are used. The labels placed on the ordering rails are scanned regularly using an optical reader. The information collected in this way is transmitted to the software program which manages every aspect of the order. Please note that the Full-Empty principle is not essential and that the system is also compatible with a topping up system (manual or semi-automatic).

In addition to the barcode labelling function, our Full-Empty module also allows you to perform the following key functions:

Module Approvisionnement Plein-VideDaily management of restocking orders

The restocking data scanned by the barcode reader are collected by the software program which provides a simple and highly visual way of managing orders from the pharmacy or warehouse and allows you to monitor them while they are being processed by the logistics system. This method is particularly useful for the publication of specific lists with a view to optimising the performance of preparation and distribution operations.

Optimisation of stocks and services

The system offers different statistical analyses of operating data in order to help the user to review and optimise the levels of stocks in healthcare departments.

Key points  :
  • Simplified management of the collection of the restocking needs of healthcare departments with minimal constraints for care staff
  • Reduction of errors thanks to the use of optical-reader technologies
  • Provision of tools to facilitate the performance of logistical tasks
  • Ability to access a data-processing function allowing for the monitoring and reviewing of stocks in healthcare departments according to operating data.

Interfaces

In order to interface our solutions with your Hospital Information System (HIS), we offer several integration modules which allow us to transmit information such as the preparations processed by our procurement software program to your economic and financial management tools. In this way, your data are transmitted to your stock management solution without any need for re-entry.

List of existing integration modules:

MAGH2 (MIPIH) GEF (Mc KESSON)
C-PAGE (GIP) ELITE (AGFA)
AS400 GEFI (SIEMENS) SAP
GILDAS (KLS) AXIA (CERNER)
PHARMA
(COMPUTER ENGINEERING)
X3 (SAGE)
SIGEMS

We regularly develop new modules. Please contact us if the module for your HIS is not included in this list.
